Notion connection
Create pages in a Notion database from survey responses. Keep your response data organized alongside the rest of your team's knowledge base.
Overview
The Notion connection creates a new page in your chosen Notion database for each survey response. You map survey questions to database properties, and Centiment handles the formatting based on each property's type. With lookup support, you can update existing pages instead of creating duplicates.
Prerequisites
-
A Notion account with at least one database
-
A survey with at least one question
Setup
Step 1: Connect your Notion account
Select an existing connected Notion account or click Connect an account to authenticate via OAuth. During authentication, Notion will ask you to grant access to specific pages and databases. Make sure you include the database you want to use.
Step 2: Select a Notion database
Choose the database where response pages should be created. The available properties will load automatically from your database schema.
Step 3: Map fields
Map your survey questions to Notion database properties. Centiment detects each property's type (rich text, number, checkbox, etc.) and formats the data accordingly. Optionally set a lookup field to update existing pages instead of always creating new ones.
Step 4: Set trigger rules
Choose which response statuses trigger the sync: Complete, Disqualified, or Over Quota. You can also add conditions to filter which responses are sent. For example, only create a page when a respondent selects a specific answer or gives a score above a certain threshold.
Field mapping
Each survey question can be mapped to a property in your Notion database. Centiment automatically formats values to match the property type. Text answers go into rich text properties, numbers into number properties, and so on. Make sure your database has the right property types set up before mapping.
Lookup field
When you set a lookup field, Centiment searches for an existing page where that property matches the mapped survey answer. If a match is found, the page is updated. If no match is found, a new page is created.
Backfill
When first enabled, existing responses that match your trigger rules are automatically synced to Notion.
Good to know
-
If you add new properties to your Notion database, they'll be available for mapping the next time you edit the connection.
-
Make sure the Centiment integration has access to the target database in Notion's sharing settings, or syncs will fail.
