This article will show you how to configure your Qualtrics survey to pass respondent IDs using variables and properly redirect respondents upon survey completion, termination, and quota fulfillment.
Step 1: Pass respondent IDs into your survey (0:15 of video)

Navigate to Survey Flow in the upper left.

Select Add a New Element > Embedded Data.

Type aid (this will store respondent IDs).

Drag this Embedded Data field to the top of your Survey Flow to ensure IDs are captured.

Select Add a New Element > Embedded Data.

Type gc and set its value to 1 (this helps track completed responses in Qualtrics).
Step 2: Add a completion URL (0:37 of video)
Redirect respondents who complete your survey successfully.
- In Survey Flow, select Add a New Element > End of Survey.
- Click Customize > Override Survey Options > Redirect to a URL.
- Paste in your Completion URL (provided on your project-specific submission page).
- Click OK.
Step 3: Add a termination URL (1:10 of video)
Redirect respondents who are disqualified based on screening criteria.
- Below a question block, select Add Below > Branch.
- Set a condition for a response-based screen-out (e.g., selecting “Extremely Unlikely”).
- Click OK to confirm the condition.
- Add a New Element > End of Survey
- Click Customize > Override Survey Options > Redirect to a URL.
- Paste in https://r.centiment.co/r/client/terminate?aid=${e://Field/aid}
- Click OK > Apply
To ensure respondents are screened out as early as possible, it’s recommended to apply screen-out logic at the question level, outside of the Survey Flow
Step 4: Add an over-quota URL (1:54 of video)
Redirect respondents when a quota has been filled.
- Navigate to Quotas in the left panel.
- Under your quota condition, select Quota Options > Redirect to a URL.
- Paste in https://r.centiment.co/r/client/over-quota?aid=${e://Field/aid}
- Click Publish to finalize your survey setup.
